Vieuex Labbe Rhum, and Jane Barbancourt liqueur (not Jean, but Jane) are all produced Berling SA in the Barbancourt distillery. Their products are top notch, but can be hard to find. Most of you are looking for their contact information. Their email address is sales@berlingsa.com.

This is not the same as the older Barbancourt Rums and owned by the Gardere family. Barbancourt Rum is much easier to find than the above mentioned Berling SA products. I've even seen their products stocked in some US bars.

Haiti rhum liqueur is no longer produced. Try Nassau Royale Liqueur from the Bahamas and also made by Bacardi. It is similar although maybe just a little heavier alcohol taste.

Jane Barbancourt ceased production in 1985
I dont think it was ever a Berling connection to Janes rums
Her liqueurs were superb, the rum was average

Oh, I did not know that there are two Barbancourt distilleries.I am looking for the makers of the rum liqueur... decades ago, when I tasted it in Portn au Prince it was made in several flavors; hibiscus, banana, coconut, hibiscus, and more. Someone here said it was easy to find. I'd like to know where taht "easy" is; I have been looking for decades.
I live in Minnesota.

Dear sirs,

Last monday I bougth 2 bottles of Barbancourt 4 years Rhun at very wood price but when I open to taste it I know that is not for human consumation, because is pure alcohol of bad quality.
I had to faigt with Almacenes Paris (saler in Chile) in order to obtain reimbursement.
Now I know that not to by this rhum again.

Very interesting information and update- thanks, Seamus. The one we tried that night at FI was quite old- labelled Jean Barbancourt, and clearly about 40 years old or more based on bottle and label. It was not bad at all, and certainly it would seem things have changed.
